PROTECTION OF MINORS

Gambling is prohibited by law for minors and we at NEO.bet have the responsibility for acting in accordance with the law and to take all possible measures to prevent minors from participating in sports betting on our website. The NEO.bet betting offer is exclusively aimed at adult players who have reached the age of 18 at the time of registration. Already during the registration process we carry out an age verification and request additional identification documents, which prove an age of majority. If we identify a player who has not yet reached the age of 18 during the verification process, an account opening will be denied, or blocked immediately, if an account has already been opened with false data.

As a relative you can help us to support the protection of children and young people:

  • Use a filter program such as Net Nanny or Cybersitter which allows you to block access to gambling sites for underage people
  • Don't leave your computer unattended while playing NEO.bet
  • Avoid the option 'Save password' in the login window
  • Do not share your credit card or bank account information with children or minors
  • Create separate profiles for your kids on your PC so they can't access your data

WHAT IS GAMBLING addiction ?

One speaks of gambling addiction (pathological playing or compulsive playing) when the urge to play is out of control and gambling dominates peoples way of life. Gambling addiction is characterized by the inability of a person concerned to resist the impulse to gamble or bet, even if this threatens to have serious consequences in a personal, family or professional environment or has already had such consequences. Since 1980 pathological gambling has been recognised in international classification systems as a mental disorder, in the course of which the financial, emotional, physical and interpersonal situation of the person concerned can be dramatically damaged.

Men are affected more often than women. In Germany, there are between 100,000 and 290,000 people affected.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU'RE ADDICT TO GAMBLING?

Affected players gradually lose their financial means, often neglect their families for a longer period of time and constantly think about playing. This leads to problems not only in the family, but also at work. Further indications of problematic or pathological gambling are:

  • High impact from gambling
  • Covering up the problem of gambling towards third parties
  • Feelings of guilt, sleep disorders, anxiety and mood swings
  • Gambling to solve personal problems or deal with bad mood
  • Using illegal activities such as falsifying and cheating in order to finance gambling
  • Chasing your losses
  • Playing with increasingly higher stakes in order to achieve the desired excitement
  • Using more money than you have at your disposal
  • Losing a job or work-related problems due to gambling
  • Family-related conflicts
We also recommend that you do this self-assessment.

SELF-ASSESSMENT.

If you are wondering if you are still in control of your betting habits or if you are at risk of developing gambling addiction, take the following test and answer the following questions with "yes" or "no".

Have you ever spent more money than you could really afford to lose?
Did you have to spend more and more money in the last year to achieve the desired kick in the game?
Have you ever tried to win back lost money the next day or at the next game?
Do you feel like you might have a problem with sports betting?
Has your gambling behavior led to health problems including increased stress or prolonged depression or anxiety?
Have other people criticized you for your gambling behavior or told you that you have a gambling problem?
Has your gaming behavior led to financial problems?
Did you feel guilty about your gambling behavior?
Have you lied or hid your relatives or friends about the impact of your betting?
Have you ever unsuccessfully tried to restrict your gambling behavior or to completely stop sports betting?
